FBC Men’s Ministry
“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another”
“Men do not become men in the company of women; we become men in the company of other men.”
-- From Every Man, God’s Man by Arterburn, Wendorf, & Luck
As Christian men, we were never intended to go it alone. We were designed by our Creator to connect with other Christian men – to encourage, support, and inspire each other in the adventures we live, through the battles we fight, and for the others we serve.
“And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him.
A cord of three strands cannot be broken.”
With these ideas in mind, the FBC Garland Men’s Ministry will empower and equip men through…
Missions and outreach activities
Ministries to meet the physical needs of others
Support programs for families and youth
Teaching and education, focused on men’s needs
The FBC Men’s Ministry is led by the Men’s Ministry Council. If you have input, feedback, or other information for the Council, simply click on the Council member's name below to send an e-mail.

Events & Activities
In partnership with Man in the Mirror Ministries, we have entered a long-term commitment to helping men on their "Journey Toward Biblical Manhood." This emphasis includes many different components, including quarterly weekend seminars, weekly Tuesday night Bible studies, and small group interaction to encourage men in their walk with God.
The first step in the Journey was a weekend seminar on September 6-7, 2013. The seminar title was "Success That Matters" and focused on the following four areas:
- Finding the Purpose of Your Life
- Finding Respect and Honor at Home
- Finding a New Best Friend in Your Wife
- Finding a Deeper Personal Relationship With God
Does it ever feel like you're never going to be "good" enough? Men often get caught in the performance trap. We can't escape our own and others' expectations. It's easy to find ourselves living a life of obligation, quiet frustration and futility.
True Christianity is not about "acting good." God offers more than behavior modification. He offers heart transformation! Our next weekend seminar will show you how God rewires men's hearts to build a passionate faith.
The "next step" in the Journey is the seminar is "Rewired: From Performance to Passion." THIS SEMINAR will be September 5 -6, 2014. The seminar will focus on the following four areas:
- From Performance to Grace
- From Idols to "Spirit and Truth"
- From Self-Sufficiency to Faithful Dependence
- Rewired for Biblical Manhood

June 14 Men's Breakfast
Speaker: Scott Coleman, Church Planting Specialist
Dallas Baptist Association
All of us could use some help in seeing our personal worlds and the community we live in more clearly. As believers in Christ, it is helpful to view our community through the eyes of Jesus, seeing people as He sees them and responding as He leads. Scott's experience as a church planter uniquely equips him to interpret community demographics in light of opportunities for ministry. He has also been part of a team who provides our church with periodic (3-year) demographic reports since 2007. Don't miss this opportunity for learning more about how God can use you in the traffic patterns of life you find yourself each week.
Spring & Fall (annually)
April 5, 2014 is our next Workday.
Workdays begin immediately following the Men's Breakfasts on scheduled dates (normally in April & October). These workdays provide men in the church with the opportunity to do various jobs to assist our widows, widowers, and single moms - jobs like yardwork, light construction and plumbing, and other "handyman" tasks.
