 FBC Military Ministry
MILITARY MINISTRY MISSION STATEMENT
The FBCG Military Ministry would desire to reach members of the military and their families and minister to their needs while serving on active duty in the United States and around the world.  The vision is for FBCG Military Ministry to begin as a program aimed at reaching out to military personnel and their families by ensuring that we display an all encompassing love, acceptance, and appreciation for the sacrifices being made by these “warrior families”.
Information Sheet:  If you have a family member or friend who is currently serving in a branch of the Military, please complete and submit the informational form.  We want to pray for and minister to the men and women who are actively serving in our Military.
 Volunteer Opportunities
For those who would like to join the military ministry team.

PRAYER
: for service members, especially those deployed and their families

LETTERS/EMAILS FROM HOME
correspond with a deployed service member; have a school class prepare notes to deployed service members; send a church bulletin to let them know what’s going on back home.

UNIT LIASION
: be willing to spend time speaking to reserve units in our area to make the service members and their families aware of the ministry. Partner with unit chaplains and command staff to introduce the ministry to them and be available to help them “get the word out” to their troops.

HELP HOST A VETERAN
RECEPTION
: to honor our veterans and bring together cross generational veterans to be able to talk with one another, and to talk with interested members of the church about their experiences in the service. Major receptions would be held on Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day.

Making Your Marriage Deployment Ready - Making Your Marriage Deployment Ready uses time tested marriage principles and prepares military couples with the necessary tools to counter deployment challenges and bring hope and victory to active duty, Guard and Reserve families. It is the definitive small group Bible study for preparing a couple to live victoriously despite the stresses of deployments and today’s demanding military lifestyle.

Bridges to Healing Series
Combat Trauma (PTSD) - The Combat Trauma Healing Manual from Military Ministry Press offers spiritual solutions for struggles with PTSD by helping construct an environment that will give God optimal access to the wounded soul.

When War Comes Home -
This book offers comfort and practical help to the wives of combat veterans struggling with the hidden wounds of war, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Insights from the medical and counseling community are wrapped in biblical principles and the shared experiences of other military wives.

Military Ministry is currently developing focused studies for parents and family members of veterans to better help them through understanding their service member.

If you would like to join one of these studies please contact us.
Other ways to help:

The purpose of this ministry is to care for and minister to Veterans and their families. Our goal is to have a home for Homeless Veterans someday. This will be a place where veterans can live and get job training that will enable them to live a productive life.

Operation Interdependence (OI) Adopt-a-Box™ Program
If you would like to make a more personal donation, OI offers Adopt-a-Box™ where, for increment donations of $30.00, you can directly sponsor the shipping of one or more of their boxes that are sent each week. Each box reaches 50 troops on the frontlines with C-rats® from home, which is enough to cover a whole platoon with no one left out.
Each box can contain a short note from you and, if you wish, your return details (over 17 only). It is a great idea for gift giving and marking special occasions or dates when you are thinking of those deployed overseas especially.
To take part in this program simply go to the website above, request Adopt-a-Box™ under the "Designated donation" option, and add a short note (max 256 characters) in the field for inclusion if you wish.

Ambit Energy, in conjunction with the PTSD Foundation of America, is helping to combat PTSD in America. Simply switch your electric provider to Ambit Energy and while saving you money, Ambit Energy will give a portion of its proceeds to help support Texas Veterans suffering from PTSD.
